Many therapies and treatments out there focus on the psychological and behavioral angles of the root issue, such as cognitive behavioural therapy or motivational interviewing, while others focus on peer support and pharmacological treatments aimed at suppressing withdrawal symptoms or antidepressants. Our focus, like most of what we do, is aimed at the biological imbalances that act as the root cause of addictions and often worsen with the addiction itself, effectively tying the person into a negative feedback loop.
Our Episteme looks at the root causes such as the gut-brain axis, mineral and nutrient deficiencies that often manifest in neuropsychological symptoms such as restlessness, depression, anxiety, and similar. These deficiencies can often be linked to a lack of essential building blocks for neurogenesis, mitochondrial health, and physiological neuroconnectivity, which can become dampened and even fully compromised in the individual.
